Seth Roberts inked the new deal worth $12 million with $6.45 million guaranteed according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. He would have made $615,000 prior to the deal. The 26-year-old signed with Oakland as an undrafted free agent out of West Alabama in May, 2014.
Roberts has played in all 32 games for the Raiders over the past two seasons, accruing 877 yards on 70 receptions and 10 touchdowns. He also has four game-winning touchdown receptions since 2015, the most in the NFL.
The Raiders are 9-0 in games in which Roberts crosses the pylons. While that’s more a novel fact than it is predictive, Roberts clearly fits in the Oakland offensive scheme well.
Last season, Roberts became “the third undrafted receiver (Clem Daniels and James Jett) in franchise history to post at least five receiving touchdowns in multiple seasons” according to a press release from the team.
