Vallejo power outage endarkens thousands

Thousands of PG&E customers in Vallejo were without power late Tuesday night due to a blown PG&E transformer, according to fire officials.

At about 11 p.m., Vallejo fire officials announced on social media that the outage was due to a blown transformer. They also said multiple street intersection lights were out.

According to PG&E officials, the outage started at 10:36 p.m. and there are currently 5,953 customers without power. They estimate power should be restored around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Vallejo firefighters also said they are battling a one-alarm vegetation fire in the 800 block of South Regatta Drive, which is located in the area of the outage.
