Man waiting for bus hurt in crash

Two people, including a pedestrian waiting for a bus, were hospitalized with injuries following a traffic collision Wednesday in San Jose.

According to San Jose police Sgt. Enrique Garcia, officers responded at 3:59 p.m. to Curtner and Meridian avenues for a major injury collision.

According to Garcia, a black 2015 Chevrolet Camaro and a 2003 white Infiniti were involved in a collision and the Infiniti was pushed onto the curb where it struck a pedestrian who was sitting in a covered Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority bus stop.

The man who was struck was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The male driver of the Infiniti was also taken to a hospital but is expected to survive, Garcia said.

The man driving the Camaro remained at the scene and cooperated with police, Garcia said.

Further details about the collision were not immediately available.
