A driver who allegedly struck and killed a woman in San Francisco’s Candlestick Point area Tuesday as he sped away from an argument has been arrested, police said Thursday.
Devon Radel, 21, was initially hospitalized after the crash, which occurred around 7 p.m. in the area of Harney Way and Executive Park Boulevard.
However, he has since been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and reckless driving. He was booked into jail Thursday afternoon with initial bail set at $305,000, according to jail records.
Police said Radel had been in an argument with someone else nearby, then got into his vehicle and sped away.
He then struck the sidewalk, trees and a light pole before ultimately hitting 37-year-old Xiuwei Liu.
Liu, a San Francisco woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
