At about 2:30 p.m., a Copa Airlines flight from Panama City was waiting to taxi to an arrival gate when the teen opened an overwing emergency exit got down to the tarmac.
Airport spokesman Doug Yakel said an airfield construction crew took hold of the teen and he is in custody.
Yakel said the teen was not injured and air traffic was not affected.
