Muni train, garbage truck collide in Bayview

A San Francisco Municipal Railway light-rail vehicle collided with a garbage truck in The City’s Bayview District Thursday morning, according to Muni officials.

The collision was reported at 5:27 a.m. at Third Street and Williams Avenue.

Both the truck and the K-Ingleside/T-Third Street LRV were traveling south on Third Street when the truck made a left turn in front of the Muni vehicle and they collided, Muni officials said.

No injuries were reported in the collision and investigators are looking into whether the truck’s left turn was made legally, Muni officials said.

The crash was still affecting southbound service on the T-Third line as of shortly before 8 a.m. and bus shuttles are taking passengers around the scene.
