Teen bicyclist dies in collision with truck

A collision between a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche and a father and his son on bicycles occurred Thursday night on Columbus Parkway south of Georgia Street.
The boy, 16, suffered major head and internal injuries and was taken to a hospital following the collision. He died today, according to police.
The father suffered minor injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured. Police said witnesses and evidence at the scene indicates the Chevy left the lane of travel.
Police said they are looking into whether drugs or alcohol played a part in the collision.
