An officer was injured and two police patrol vehicles were vandalized Tuesday evening after an incident at San Francisco’s Dolores Park involving skateboarders, according to police.
Police initially reported police activity at the park, located in the vicinity of 19th and Dolores Streets, on Twitter at 8:13 p.m.
During the incident, crowds had gathered at the park and were allegedly throwing projectiles at officers. The officer who was injured was taken to a hospital.
Additionally, at least one skateboarder was injured after losing control while riding, police said.
Dolores Street was shut down between 18th and 20th streets. Police asked residents and drivers to avoid the area. Further information was not immediately available.
