Warriors fans heading to the parade in Oakland on Thursday using BART can expect large crowds at stations and long lines at ticket machines.
Officials are suggesting riders to load a Clipper card or a BART ticket a day or two in advanced of the parade to avoid waiting in line at BART ticket machines.
On the day of the parade, BART staff will be on hand at cash-only ticket tables where staff will sell $15 Clipper cards. The cards are preloaded with $11, with $4 in fees to purchase and load the card.
Last Thursday, the BART of Directors approved a $1 million contract with Cubic Transportation Systems, Inc, for 30,000 preloaded Clipper cards.
BART will sell the Clipper cards from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the following stations:

BART wants riders attending the parade to not get off at the Lake Merritt Station, but instead get off at the 12th Street or 19th Street stations, which are bigger stations.
Officials suggest riders who are driving to a BART parking lot to arrive early. The Lake Merritt Station parking permit lot will close all day on Thursday.
BART said they are doing “extra maintenance” to make sure every BART train is available on Thursday. The transit agency will have extra maintenance staff available to respond to mechanical issues on escalators, elevators and on BART trains.
BART riders not attending the parade should note of some service changes on Thursday and arrive earlier at stations.
Pittsburg/Baypoint morning service will not match the scheduled service that is published. Some BART trains may get rerouted to serve crowded stations, according to BART officials.
Starting after 8 a.m., every other train from the Warm Springs to Daly City route will not go to San Francisco. Instead, these trains will go through Downtown Oakland and end at the MacArthur Station.
BART is warning riders that it may decide to skip a station due to overcrowding, or hold riders outside the fare gates until the station platforms are cleared.
During the 2015 Warriors parade, BART said it carried 548,076 people. It was only second to the 568,061 people who took BART to the San Francisco Giants parade on Oct. 31, 2012.
