A motorcycle rider died Tuesday in a head-on collision with a septic pump truck on state Highway 1 south of Olema Bolinas Road in unincorporated Marin County near Bolinas, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision happened around 10:25 a.m. and closed the southbound lane of Highway 1, CHP officials said. The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation indicated the motorcyclist crossed over the center line and collided with the truck. It does not appear alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision, according to the CHP.
The CHP and the Marin County sheriff’s office and fire department responded to the collision.
