A Hawaiian Airlines flight from Mineta San Jose International Airport to Honolulu International Airport returned to San Jose and made an emergency landing Tuesday morning because of a mechanical problem, according to airport officials.
Flight 43 left San Jose around 9:15 a.m., but returned to the airport after the flight crew identified a power issue with the right engine and declared an emergency for priority landing clearance, according to airline officials.
The plane landed safely around 9:55 a.m.
There were 11 crewmembers and 252 passengers onboard. Hawaiian Airlines is making arrangements to accommodate the passengers on other flights to Hawaii.
