Powell Street cable car collides with vehicle

The Powell Street cable car line is experiencing delays Thursday evening due to a collision between a cable car and a vehicle, according to Muni and San Francisco fire officials.

The collision occurred at Sutter and Powell streets shortly before 5 p.m., a fire department spokesman said.

No injuries were reported and all occupants were removed from the car.

Shuttles will help carry passengers on the line, according to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.

People are being asked to avoid the area and drivers should expect delays, fire officials said.
