The discovery was made Friday at about 6 p.m. along Platform Bridge Road, between Sir Francis Drake Road and Point Reyes-Petaluma Road, Marin County sheriff’s Lt. Doug Pittman said.
The land is part of the Point Reyes National Seashore and is operated by the National Park Service, according to NPS spokesman John Dell’Osso.
Platform Bridge Road was closed for the beginning part of today, as investigators continued to search for evidence.
Sheriff’s officials and NPS officials are working in conjunction with the FBI to determine the identity of the victim and the manner of death.
