Concord City Council looks for new treasurer

Concord is looking for a new treasurer to replace Tim McGillian, who recently resigned after being appointed to the City Council.

City officials said the appointee will fill the remaining term left vacant by McGillian.

The term runs through December 2018.

The elected City Treasurer will serve as an advisor and will provide oversight on several city programs.

The City Treasurer will receive and safely keep all money coming into the treasury, submit reports to the City Clerk of all receipts, disbursements and fund balances and will be responsible for other financial duties.

According to city officials, the Senior Financial Analyst, who is a regular city employee, handles the duties associated with the office.

Eligible applicants must be a registered voter, at least 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen and a resident of Concord.

All interested applicants must submit an application and a completed Fair Political Practices Commission FPPC Form 700 Statement of Economic Interest. Both can be obtained from the city’s website at www.cityofconcord.org/citytreasurer or at the City Clerk’s office.

City officials said applications will be accepted through March 10 at 5 p.m.
