A fire broke out at a home Wednesday morning in the unincorporated Monterey County community of Pebble Beach, Cal Fire officials said.
At 9:39 a.m., fire crews from multiple agencies responded to a residential structure fire on Bird Rock Road. At the scene, firefighters saw smoke coming from the home’s garage and quickly attacked the blaze.
According to fire officials, the fire was contained to the area of origin at 9:46 a.m., and completely extinguished by 10:13 a.m. The fire did not extend further into the home, but did cause an estimated $1,000 in damage to contents.
The resident of the home suffered minor burns in his attempt to extinguish the fire himself. An ambulance was dispatched to the home, but the resident refused transport to the local hospital, fire officials said.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
