One hospitalized after Muni collision

San Francisco Municipal Railway service in the city’s Mission Bay neighborhood was briefly interrupted Friday afternoon after a Muni light rail vehicle collided with a car.

The collision was reported at 12:37 p.m. at Third and 16th streets, according to Muni spokesman Paul Rose.

No one on the Muni car reported being injured, police Officer Giselle Talkoff said.

One person in the car that collided with the Muni train was injured and taken to the hospital, according to Talkoff.

Information about the victim’s condition was not immediately available.

Muni service was briefly halted at Channel and Fourth streets and shuttles were picking up passengers who may have been stranded, Rose said.

Additionally, drivers were advised to expect delays in the area.

Muni service has since resumed and streets have been reopened.
