Roads reopen after fatal hit-and-run on Highway 101

All roads have reopened after a hit-and-run crash killed one pedestrian and closed roads in Novato Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At 1:06 a.m., CHP received a call about a person down on the roadway on U.S. Highway 101 in Novato, just south of Atherton Avenue.

Crews arrived and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crews closed one southbound lane on Highway 101, as well as the Atherton Avenue on-ramp.

At 4:38 a.m., crews had cleared the scene, canceled a previously issued Sig-alert and reopened all roads, CHP officials said.
