Police catch thief suspected of stealing merchandise
A man who stole merchandise from a sporting goods store in Concord on Sunday was caught.

A man who stole merchandise from a sporting goods store in Concord on Sunday was caught, police said.
According to police, the suspect stole clothing and a backpack from the Big 5 Sporting Goods store located at 2689 Clayton Road. When confronted by store employees, the suspect pushed them out of the way and fled the store.
Officers arrived on the scene at about 11 a.m. to search for the suspect. Police eventually found the suspect walking on Willow Pass Road and arrested him. His name was not immediately released.
