Search for robbery suspect disrupts BART

BART trains did not stop in downtown Berkeley for a short time Saturday afternoon as police searched for a robbery suspect on a train platform, a BART police lieutenant said.

BART police were asked at 3:19 p.m. to help Berkeley police search for the suspect, but the search was unsuccessful, Lt. Steve Coontz said.

Trains service in the downtown Berkeley station was interrupted for only about 5 minutes.
