System-wide BART delays due to Women’s Marches

BART officials are reporting 20-minute delays this afternoon at all stations because of the Women’s Marches in San Francisco and Oakland.

The officials reported the delays at 3:51 p.m.

Earlier today Women’s Marches at several places in the Bay Area, including Oakland, also caused BART delays.

A Women’s March is San Francisco was scheduled to start at 3 p.m.

A BART dispatcher said the delays this afternoon are because many people are leaving the Oakland march to go to the San Francisco march.

Earlier this week, BART said it would be running longer trains Friday and today because of protests of President Donald Trump’s inauguration and the Women’s Marches.
