Police release surveillance photos of homicide suspect

Oakland police Thursday released surveillance photos of a suspect taken just after he killed a man in West Oakland in November.

The suspect is shown fleeing just after he killed Jerry Ezell Harbin, 37, of Oakland in the 1100 block of 32nd Street at 1:08 p.m. on Nov. 14, police said.

Police released little information in the weeks after the shooting until Thursday when they released the surveillance photos. Investigators have not disclosed a possible motive for the crime.

The suspect is described as a black man in his late 20s standing 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall with a slim build, black hair and a beard. He was wearing a dark T-shirt, jeans and dark shoes the day of the shooting.

He got into a white 2012 Chevrolet Malibu just after the shooting and fled, police said.

The Oakland Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case.

Anyone with information about the homicide or the suspect has been asked to contact Oakland police homicide investigators at (510) 238-3821 or the department’s tip line at (510) 238-7950.
