The sighting occurred at about 7:15 a.m. on Melendy Drive near Crestview Drive, county officials said.
According to the sheriff’s office, people should avoid approaching a mountain lion, especially if it’s with its offspring or feeding. Most mountain lions try to avoid confronting people.
Residents are also advised to avoid hiking or jogging alone at dusk and dawn, when mountain lions are most active.
