Russian River expected to reach flood stage

National Weather Service officials said Sunday that they are closely watching the Russian River at Guerneville in unincorporated Sonoma County as it is expected to reach flood stage tonight and overflow its banks Monday morning.

Meteorologist Brian Garcia said the Russian River at Guerneville is expected to reach its flood stage of 32 feet at 10 p.m. tonight.

Then the river is expected to crest Monday morning at 36 to 38 feet.
