Accused diaper thief nabbed by police

Officers arrested a man Friday night after he allegedly broke into a Petaluma nursing facility and took diapers, police said.
At around 10:15 p.m., officers responded to The Oaks at 450 Hayes Lane for a report of a burglary, according to police.
A caller told police they saw a man lurking around the inside of the facility.
When officers arrived, they found that a window in the building had been broken. Officers then set up a perimeter around the building, police said.
When the suspect tried to escape from a back window, officers chased him and apprehended him.
Officers identified the man as Todd Simone, a 50-year-old Petaluma transient. Officers learned Simone was on probation, according to police.
Officers also found him to be in possession of both adult and children’s diapers, which he took from the medical facility.
Simone allegedly admitted to officers that he had a taken the diapers because he has a fetish for them, police said.
Officers arrested him on suspicion of burglary, resisting arrest and violating probation. Simone was booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
