A man who was shot and killed at a storage facility near Salinas on New Year’s Eve was identified as a 30-year-old Salinas resident, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting was reported at 218 Boronda Road, part of the High Industrial Park storage facility, at about 8 p.m. Saturday, sheriff’s officials said.
Arriving deputies found Omar Mireles-Sanchez suffering multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have not released any information about a possible suspect or motive in the case. Anyone with information has been asked to contact Monterey County sheriff’s Cmdr. Matt Luther or Detective Sgt. Terry Kaiser at (831) 755-3771.
