A man tried to rob a bank in San Francisco’s Financial District on Friday but was scared away after the teller called security, police said.
The attempted robbery occurred shortly before 11 a.m. at a bank in the 400 block of Montgomery Street, police said.
The suspect, described as a man in his late 20s, waited in line at the bank and then placed a bag on the counter and presented a teller with a note, police said.
The teller called over a security guard, who asked the suspect to leave.
The suspect fled the area on foot and had not been arrested as of Tuesday morning, according to police.
