The second lane of Interstate Highway 680 in Danville has reopened after a large moving van overturned on its side Monday morning, closing the three left southbound lanes of the highway, California Highway Patrol officers said.
The overturn was reported at 3:24 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway, just north of the Diablo Road off-ramp.
CHP officers said the white moving van and a light-colored station wagon or SUV collided, causing the van to turn over.
A large amount of wood and other items, possibly clothing or debris, was reported nearby, in the right lane south of the West El Pintado off-ramp.
CHP officers issued a Sig-alert at 3:40 a.m. when they closed all but the left lane. The second lane was reopened just before 4 a.m.
