San Ramon teen in critical condition after struck by car

A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition after a car hit him near Dougherty Valley High School in San Ramon on Saturday evening, police said.

The crash was reported at about 7:45 p.m. A skateboard at the scene led police to believe that the boy was skateboarding when he was hit.

The boy was airlifted to Children’s Hospital Oakland. The driver was cooperative with police, officers said.

While investigating the crash, police closed Bollinger Canyon Road to westbound traffic for several hours starting just before 8:30 p.m.

Initially police closed Bollinger Canyon west of Blueheart Way before extending the closure to Albion Road just before 9 p.m.

No further information was immediately available.
