BART trains have recovered from a major systemwide delay caused by brake problems on an eastbound train passing through the transbay tube Tuesday evening.
The delay was first reported as an equipment problem on a train at 5:43 p.m.
BART officials later clarified that a train’s brakes were stuck in the “on” position, and that it was traveling to the West Oakland station in manual mode.
The problem posed no danger to passengers, according to BART.
The system was recovering from the delays by 6:43 p.m.
