Bicyclist running red light struck by car exiting freeway

A bicyclist who was struck by a car exiting the freeway in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood Sunday morning suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.

The collision occurred shortly before 9 a.m. when the bicyclist, a 70-year-old man, rode through a red light traveling south on Eighth Street at Harrison Street, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital and an update on his condition was not immediately available.

No arrest was reported in connection with the collision.
