The mayor of San Francisco on Friday announced the appointment of the city’s second chief resilience officer, whose job it is to oversee city policy on resilience and implementation of that policy, the mayor’s office said.
Brian Strong, the director of San Francisco’s Capital Planning Program, was appointed by Mayor Edwin Lee. Lee said Strong brings more than 10 years of city leadership to the position.
The mayor said in a statement:
“Brian Strong created the city’s Capital Plan and brings more than a decade of proven leadership to this vital resilience work.”
The city’s resilience work includes capital program planning, the Earthquake Safety Implementation Program and Lifelines Council.
