An off-duty Santa Clara police officer was arrested early this morning following an alleged domestic violence incident at a home in the city.
Just after midnight, officers responded to the 100 block of Saratoga Avenue on a report of domestic violence, according to police.
Upon arrival, officers learned the female victim had been dating the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Daniel Burdle. The woman had visible injuries, police said.
Officers arrested Burdle on suspicion of felony domestic violence.
He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.
Burdle, a 7-year veteran with the Santa Clara Police Department, was off-duty when the incident occurred. He has been placed on paid administrative leave while the incident is being investigated, police said.
