A woman struck and killed by a taxi in South San Jose early Tuesday morning has been identified as 37-year-old Jennifer Talavera, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.
The taxi was heading south on Monterey Road near Capitol Expressway and struck Talavera around 3 a.m., police said.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The collision caused the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority to reroute five bus lines until about 8:15 a.m., VTA officials said.
