Officers responded to the AMC Metreon 16, on Fourth Street near Mission Street, at 7:55 p.m. according to Officer Grace Gatpandan.
A handgun was recovered at the scene and one person was placed in police custody, according to Gatpandan, but no injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made as of around 9 p.m.
Police are asking people to avoid the area as the investigation is ongoing.
