A driver fleeing from Solano County Sheriff’s deputies stopped traffic on the westbound Bay Bridge Friday evening after passing through Alameda and Contra Costa counties, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers took over a pursuit of a green pickup truck that was fleeing west on Interstate Highway 80 through Berkeley. They spike-stripped the vehicle in Emeryville, and the driver was taken into custody when she finally stopped in San Francisco, according to Officer Sean Wilkenfeld.
The suspect was observed throwing alcohol bottles out the window during the pursuit, Wilkenfeld said.
The incident closed multiple westbound lanes of traffic while officers arranged to have the truck removed.
