Milpitas police arrest four purse snatching suspects

A woman, two men and a 16-year-old boy were arrested in connection with a purse-snatching in Milpitas on Sunday afternoon, according to police.

An officer stopped the driver of a Toyota on South Main Street around 3:12 p.m. Sunday on suspicion of reckless driving.

During the stop, the officer heard radio traffic indicating that a purse-snatch robbery had just occurred at the Great Mall of the Bay Area, and the suspect fled in a car matching the Toyota’s description.

The victim’s purse was recovered during a search of the car and returned to her.

All of the vehicle’s occupants were arrested including the driver, Alfonso Carrillo, 18, who was booked into jail on suspicion of reckless driving and robbery. Robert Joseph Caudillo, 20, and 26-year-old Levina Marina Meza were arrested on suspicion of robbery.

A 16-year-old boy was booked into Juvenile Hall on suspicion of robbery and possession of a dagger, according to police.
