Two police officers escaped injury Sunday evening in San Jose when a suspect shot at them multiple times, police said.
The two officers were walking on a patrol at 7:36 p.m. near Luby and Ripley drives when they tried to talk to a group of boys or men.
Most of the people in the group ran off but one person turned and fired a gun at the officers, according to police.
The officers did not fire back.
Police said they have surrounded the area to find the shooter.
Police are describing the suspect as a clean-shaven Hispanic man in his 20s, 6 feet tall and 160 to 180 pounds. The suspect was wearing a black and gray sweater with a white T-shirt underneath and dark pants.
