A two-alarm fire at a Campbell restaurant Thursday morning is under control, a Santa Clara County fire spokesman said.
Firefighters responded to a reported commercial structure fire around 8:20 a.m. at Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery at 1875 Bascom Ave., located within The Pruneyard shopping center, fire spokesman Bill Murphy said.
When crews arrived, they found smoke coming from the roof and went inside to find the fire in the kitchen area, Murphy said.
Flames extended into the walls and attic space. Crews quickly called for a second-alarm response and had the blaze under control shortly after 10 a.m., he said.
There were employees on-site when the fire broke out, but the restaurant wasn’t open for business, Murphy said.
It appeared the restaurant sustained enough damage that will prevent it from opening to customers today, he said.
No injuries were reported and no evacuations were needed, according to Murphy. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A call out to the restaurant went to a busy signal late this morning.
