Four students hurt in shooting outside high school

Four students were injured in a shooting outside a school in San Francisco’s Excelsior District Tuesday afternoon, according to San Francisco Unified School District officials.

The district initially reported that three students suffered injuries in the shooting, which occurred outside June Jordan School for Equity around 3:15 p.m.

However, the district later confirmed that a fourth student was also injured.

Police say the fourth victim walked into San Francisco General Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The high school, located at 325 La Grande Ave., was placed on lockdown after the shooting, which occurred right around dismissal time, while police searched the area for suspects. That lockdown was lifted around 4 p.m.

District officials said it appeared that four suspects — described as “outsiders” — targeted a particular individual in the shooting.

Others injured at the scene are bystanders.
