91-year-old pedestrian injured in Nob Hill

An elderly pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries Sunday evening when a car struck him as he was crossing a street in San Francisco’s Nob Hill neighborhood.

Around 5:51 p.m., officers responded to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian at Pacific Avenue and Leavenworth Street, according to police.

Officers learned a 91-year-old man was crossing the street at the intersection within the crosswalk when a 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse struck him, police said.

The victim suffered serious head injuries and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, according to police.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 30-year-old man, stopped and remained at the scene. He was not arrested, police said.
