A Union City high school student was arrested Friday on suspicion of making a false threat that resulted in a campus lockdown, police said.
Shortly after noon, Union City police received an anonymous call “with the inference that someone was going to the Logan High School Campus with a weapon to hurt someone,” police Lt. Lisa Graetz said in a statement.
Police investigated at the campus and the school was locked down.
A 16-year-old male student was eventually identified and arrested.
City officials are calculating the cost of the emergency response services deployed to the incident, and might consider cost recovery measures for those deemed responsible, Graetz said.
