A would-be robber fired into the air as he tried to steal a briefcase from a man heading to work in San Francisco’s Duboce Triangle neighborhood Monday morning, police said today.
The victim, a 61-year-old man, was walking to work in the 200 block of Noe Street around 9 a.m. when he was approached by a man in his 20s, according to police.
The suspect attempted to take the man’s briefcase, but the victim refused to let go.
The suspect then pulled out a handgun and fired one shot into the air. The victim was not injured, and the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle without the briefcase, police said.
No one has been arrested.
