Students found two swastikas and hateful graffiti in campus housing at San Jose State University on Tuesday evening, according to university president Mary Papazian.
The graffiti, which was found in Campus Village and Washburn hall, is being investigated by university police.
Guided conversations facilitated by university staff were scheduled in campus housing Wednesday night, according to Papazian:
“I am both saddened and outraged by this news. … Although I am in Long Beach for CSU meetings, I have spoken with campus and community leaders and shared our resolve to provide a safe learning environment where difficult issues can be addressed collaboratively and transparently.”
