Fisherman’s Wharf argument leads to axe attack

A man was struck with an axe in the abdomen in San Francisco’s waterfront area Saturday afternoon during an argument, police said.

The 27-year-old victim was hanging out with four other men on Powell Street north of Bay Street shortly before 3:20 p.m. when an argument broke out, police said.

One of the suspects then brought out an axe and struck the victim in the abdomen. The victim was taken to a hospital with a deep cut but is expected to survive his injuries, according to police.

The suspects fled in a vehicle and no arrest had been reported as of this morning.
