A man who allegedly threatened another man with a metal pole and tried to stab him with a screwdriver Saturday in Pittsburg was arrested by BART police, a BART police officer said.
Jeremy Jackson, 28, was arrested a short time after the 4:30 p.m. incident at the Bliss Avenue Park-and-Ride lot, BART police Lt. Steve Coontz said.
Allegedly Jackson was brandishing a metal pole when he approached a man working on his car in the parking lot, Coontz said. Jackson demanded the man’s flashlight, which the man gave him, according to police.
But then allegedly Jackson picked up a screwdriver and tried to stab the man, Coontz said. The man was able to get into his car and get away.
He called police and officers from the Pittsburg Police Department detained Jackson at a nearby restaurant, according to Coontz.
BART police responded and took Jackson to the county jail where he was booked on suspicion of robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
The victim was not injured, Coontz said.
