Man found dead in Richardson Bay identified

The Marin County coroner’s office has identified a man who was found dead Saturday morning in Richardson Bay near Sausalito as 27-year-old Shawn Ghiselin.

Chief Deputy Coroner Darrell Harris said Ghiselin had multiple addresses in Marin County but he lived on a boat in Sausalito until about 10 days ago.

A boater who discovered Ghiselin’s body reported it to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office around 8:15 a.m. Saturday, sheriff’s Lt. Doug Pittman said.

A sheriff’s marine patrol and the Southern Marin Fire Protection District brought the body to shore. Emergency crews did not find any obvious cause of death, Pitman said.
