Officers responded after dispatchers learned that a person stole a Ford F250 truck just before 7:08 a.m. at Meredith Way and Gentrytown Drive.

Then another person called at 7:39 a.m. to say the suspect was burglarizing a vehicle in the 3300 block of Meadowbrook Road.
Responding officers located the Ford on G Street near Putnam Street where the suspect ran a stop sign and struck a vehicle as officers attempted a traffic stop, police said.
The vehicle the Ford struck sustained minor damage.
The suspect drove onto state Highway 4 into the City of Pittsburg and onto city streets until he stopped on Piedmont Way, a dead end street, according to police.
The suspect drove into a stop sign, knocking down the sign and tried to drive through a fence into a field, but got stuck in loose gravel.
Police released a K-9 to detain the suspect who revved the engine to flee and failed to get out of the Ford at officers’ commands.
The suspect was treated and released from a hospital before being booked into the county jail on $169,000 bail.
