Child pinned, killed by unoccupied car

A 7-year-old boy died after being pinned by a vehicle in San Francisco’s Bayview district Friday afternoon, according to police.

The incident was reported around 1 p.m. in the vicinity of Ruel Court and Hudson Avenue.

A neighbor found the boy pinned between a car and a support pole holding up a carport. The child was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators were called to the scene around 1:30 p.m. They determined that the car had been unoccupied when it started moving for an unknown reason, pinning the child.
