SF man sought in 13-year-old’s kidnapping

Detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office are seeking a San Francisco man in connection with the kidnapping of a 13-year-old that occurred earlier this year near Clovis.

Two others were arrested earlier this week in connection with the kidnapping and deputies are now seeking 40-year-old Miguel Carriedo, who is known to stay in both San Francisco and Oakland, according to sheriff’s officials.

On Feb. 16, around 3:15 p.m., a 13-year-old girl had just arrived at her home, located at East Shepherd and North Academy avenues near Clovis, sheriff’s officials said.

A group of at least four masked men were outside the house and approached the girl before she went inside.

The group then pulled the girl’s backpack off of her and forced her inside their car.

The men then drove the girl about 20 miles away, near Sycamore Road and Coyote Drive near the unincorporated community of Tollhouse.

The suspects forced the girl out of the car and punched her and kicked her. The suspects then fled the area in their car.

The teen was able to walk a short distance and found help from a resident in the area. The resident then called the sheriff’s office.

The girl was taken to a hospital for treatment.

During the investigation, detectives learned a woman, identified as 41-year-old Sandra Garcia of Madera, had been dating the victim’s father.

Detectives then found evidence linking Garcia and her 18-year-old son, Mark Roque, also of Madera, to the kidnapping.

On Friday, police in Hanford arrested the pair, after responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area.

Both Roque and Garcia were arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a kidnapping for financial gain, torture and making death threats, according to sheriff’s officials.

Anyone with information about Carriedo’s whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (559) 600-3111 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7687. Callers have the option of remaining anonymous and may be eligible for a $1,000 reward, according to sheriff’s officials.
