Sebastopol power outage traps two in elevator

A power outage in Sebastopol left two people stranded in an elevator Friday evening, according to police.

Police said a tree trimming accident on state Highway 12 near Duer Road knocked out the power to the east side of Sebastopol.

Two janitors working at a business on Morris Street were trapped in an elevator as a result of the outage.

According to police, the trapped men immediately contacted emergency personnel, who were able to get in touch with both the property owner and the elevator company to reset the elevators.

The men were freed and power was restored to the area a short while later, according to police.
